Welcome to your wilderness home in the Northern Rockies! Picture-perfect Torwood Lodge fits harmoniously into 300 private acres and provides magnificent views of Williston Lake and the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Our newly built eight-suite facility, designed in the historic 'square log - dovetail corner' style, enables us to provide our guest with single or double occupancy accommodations in an atmosphere of intimacy, yet with a feeling of openness, and relaxation. Each room is tastefully decorated with careful attention to detail, and has it's own private bath and satellite internet connection. We also have a private chalet with three suites available, right next to the main lodge for a more intimate setting for smaller groups.
The common areas include the Great Room, where after a wonderful day in the mountains and a superb meal, you can join friends by the fireplace. Enjoy an evening of great music, the finest of beverages, and a stroll on the wrap-around deck for a soak in the outdoor hot tub under the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights.
The lodge also offers a fully stocked bar, sauna, outside hot tub, stretch and fitness room, fully equipped meeting room and laundry facilties with a specially designed boot room with boot and glove dryers.
Our gift shop carries a selection of fine outdoor and casual clothing, and local art and souveneirs. We also carry accessories for your many adventures, including: gloves, eyewear, walking poles, custom-made knives and locally tied flies.
CuisineTorwood lodge caters to an International clientel and our menu reflects the tastes of our guests. Each evening our Chef will prepare interesting and delicious plate service dinners, one each day from a different country.
For example, Saturday night is 'Germany'; a wild game dinner with all the traditional German trimmings and deserts. Sunday is 'France' when we might just serve you Veal medallions in a burgandy mushroom sauce and delicate fresh vegetables. Monday's dinner offers our representation of a typical American dinner.... stuffed roast turkey, cranberries, baked yams, fresh vegetables and hot apple pie with ice cream. Canada's fare on Tuesday features a buffalo steak BBQ, baked beans, home fried potatoes, and depending on the temperature outside, it may be accompanied by homemade French onion soup (the Quebec recipe, of course).
Wednesday, brings Spain and Pia... and the list goes on. Each day a different country, a different meal. To some of our guests one of these dinners could very well be a 'home cooked meal' All meals are plate service and three to four courses. Special dietary needs are catered to upon request and with advanced notice.
Coffee and tea are served all day long; juices and softdrinks upon request. Please note that all meals are subject to the availability of ingredients.
